You’ve found the home page. This is a great place to start if it’s your first time visting the site. Here at LivingAvatar.me, you’ll find that life really is just a big game. Sounds a bit pessimistic when I put it that way, huh? Well, don’t let it get you down, because the way I see it, that’s great news! Here on Earth there is so much adventure to be had and excitement waiting around every corner! I’m getting ahead of myself though, since I realize this isn’t the most popular opinion out there.

Let’s start with introductions. Following that link, you’ll find Chapter 1 of the Living Avatar saga, or story mode, as I call it. After reading that, you’ll have a better idea of what it is I’m doing here.

Did you read it? Yes? Awesome. Now, let me give you a tour.

At the top of each page you’ll see the name “Living Avatar” in green, pixel-font letters. That’s me! Below is my slogan “Playing the Game of Life”. If you’ve read Chapter 1: An Introduction, you’ll know what it means. (Spoilers: It has nothing to do with the board game.) In the high upper right corner of each page, you’ll find a little search icon. Clicking that will let you search the site.

Below the title and slogan, you’ll find the main menu:

• Home — Clicking this will bring you here, to this page. Not so exciting since you’re already here, I know, but you can always click it to come back and read this all over again if you want.
• Quests — This is where you’ll find all my posts. In the drop-down menu, you’ll find that these posts are split into two categories: Story Mode and Side Quests. Story Mode, if you’ve ever played a story-driven video game, should be self-explanatory. If you haven’t, then just think of it as your portal to an awesome, edge-of-your-seat, totally engrossing narrative. (Excitement may vary.) Side Quests, on the other hand, are like tangents throughout my story. You’ll still find them relevant to the “game of life” theme, but they’ll be more stand-alone in nature. (WARNING: May still contain excitement.)
• Reviews — This link will take you to my personal reviews. At the moment, I only intend to review video games which I’ve identified as influential to my path in life, but I may broaden the spectrum after a while. In the future, if I start to really enjoy writing reviews, who knows what I might start to review? Movies? Books? Cars?…nah.
• Top 10 Lists — The drop-down menu here displays three categories: Top 10 Video Games, Top 10 Hiking Trails, and Top 10 Recipes. These top ten lists are all personal, and by no means do I mean to suggest that my opinion is above anybody else’s.
• Currently Playing — This page is more of a means for me to share with the world which video games I’m currently sinking my time into. The content of my posts may suggest that I gave up video games for getting a life, but that couldn’t be further from the truth, and this page is proof. In truth, video games remain an integral part of my adventures, and I’m not (at least not yet) about to drop them from my field of view.
• Coming Soon… — Following this link, you’ll find a list of all my ideas and currently in-the-works projects for LivingAvatar.me. I don’t have any deadlines set for any of these ideas, but I can say with certainty that they’re definitely on the way!

Here on the homepage, you’ve probably already noticed a large banner-like object between this text and the main menu I’ve just described. This is a billboard of sorts I’ll be using to highlight featured content on the site. So far, at the time of writing this, I’ve only got my introduction post featured and the rest of the sliders show either an “UNDER CONSTRUCTION” notice or are more or less blank. That’ll change in the near future, as I move further along with setting up the site.

If you look to the right of this page (or at the bottom of the page if you’re on mobile) you’ll find a lot of stuff you can do like search the site, browse posts by category, check out my recent posts, navigate the site (with the same options I just mentioned above), subscribe to our RSS feed, and go through our archives (sorted by month).

Scrolling to the bottom of each page you’ll find a few more things to do. You’ll find another search bar, another link to get to the homepage, a link to go straight to Story Mode, the Privacy Policy (still in the works), another link to whats coming soon, and a link to subscribe to our mailing list! At the moment, this footer menu isn’t yet cemented, so you may find that I’ll change in the future (or that it already has, depending on when you read this).

The last thing I’d like to point out to you is a little tiny button at the bottom right of each page with a little arrow pointing up. If you click this arrow, you’ll be brought straight to the top of whatever page it is you’re viewing. Nifty huh?
