Today my thoughts wandered to a friend whom I met during my first time visiting Brazil. He’s the kind of guy who loves to categorize and document things wherever he goes–a lot like me! He even keeps a digital library of the information he collects. We’re talking terabytes of information like books, music, movies, pictures, text messages, emails, memes, you name it! His eyes are keen for the vast potential of information he encounters in his travels. I’ve even been so fortunate as to have the pleasure of browsing his library for myself.

Tucked Away


Every once in a while I stumble upon a place hidden from the rest of the world so well that it really seems as if I was brought there by some unseen influence. These places tend to emanate their own specific aura, as if there was someone or something watching my every move. Sometimes I feel welcome, other times I feel like the focus of suspicion. Always there seems to be some invisible guardian or inhabitant who notices my arrival. Some people describe such places as sacred, others might use the word haunted, but I guess that depends on who you’re asking.

To Buff or Debuff? That is the question.


Surviving in games these days sometimes requires being able to cook or concoct something in order to keep yourself from starving or running out of hit points. You can create meals for yourself in games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Stardew Valley, or potions to drink in games like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Minecraft, in order to give your character some extra hit points or a nice buff. Each of these games has rules about what you should or shouldn’t cook together, or which ingredients may help or harm you if you choose to include them in your recipe.
